Rockdale Bankruptcy

Rockdale Bankruptcy | Free Claim Evaluation

Rockdale Marcellus LLC and Rockdale Marcellus Holdings LLC (referred to collectively as “Rockdale”) owns and operates 66 shale gas producing wells across roughly 42 thousand acres. In September 2021, Rockdale filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the Western District of Pennsylvania (“the Rockdale Bankruptcy”).

Rockdale’s bankruptcy filings reflect that nearly 2,000 businesses and individuals may be owed money in the bankruptcy proceedings. Any business or individual who believes they are owed money by Rockdale should take immediate action to ensure they receive what they may be owed through the Rockdale Bankruptcy. In many instances, these individuals and businesses are required to file a “proof of claim” with the bankruptcy court stating the amount they may be owed and the basis for the claim. Failure to file a proof of claim by the deadline fixed by the court might result in the loss of the money you or your company may be owed. Rockdale has filed a motion with the court to set a deadline for claims to be filed in the Rockdale Bankruptcy. Rockdale is proposing a 12/10/2021 deadline.

According to the bankruptcy filings, the company the company estimates its assets to be between $100 and $500 million. Rockdale estimates its liabilities to fall between $100 – $500 million as well. The company owes at least $58 million to unsecured creditors. Rockdale has told the court that it plans sell most of its assets via auction in December, and it plans to settle its debts from the funds raised through the auction. A substantial portion of the company’s liabilities are owed on royalties to individuals for its well production.

Rockdale has filed a motion with the Bankruptcy court to set a 12/10/2021 deadline for Rockdale’s creditors to file proofs of claim. Anyone who believes they may be owed money by Rockdale should take action.

The fact that you or your business may be listed as a creditor in the Rockdale Bankruptcy does not mean you have been sued. Neither you nor your business is required to take action; however, failure to do so may result in no recovery of what you may be owed in the bankruptcy proceeding.

FAQ

Yes. Please call us or use our contact form to request a Free Case Evaluation. We have a national team of attorneys and staff who look forward to speaking with you.

Typically, we represent clients on contingency fee agreements. If we take your case under a contingency fee arrangement, you won’t owe our firm any legal fees unless we are able to recover money for you.

Our contingency fee agreements are usually based on a percentage of the amount we recover for our clients. The contingency fee amount is determined by the type of case, our estimate of how long it will take to resolve your case, and our estimate of the litigation costs we will advance in your case. Each engagement agreement includes the details of the fee arrangement. Questions about our fee agreements are welcomed and encouraged.

In most litigation matters, it is extremely difficult – practically impossible – to predict how long it will take to resolve a particular case. Every case is different, and we will do our best to provide you with an estimate based on your case and our experience with similar cases. Moreover, we will do our best to keep you updated and manage expectations along the way.
