WHAT HAPPENED?
On June 23, 2023, Activate Healthcare, LLC filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of Montana after learning that an unauthorized party was able to access confidential patient information following what appears to have been a cyberattack. Based on the company’s official filing, the incident resulted in an unauthorized party gaining access to patients’ names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, driver’s license numbers, and clinical information, such as provider names, dates of service, and diagnoses.
