**We are no longer accepting new clients for this case.**
Essure is a form of permanent birth control that has been referred to as female sterilization because the procedure is “irreversible.” This type of procedure is known as “tubal sterilization,” and it consists of permanently closing the Fallopian tubes. However, Bayer’s “minimally invasive device” is costing Bayer Millions in 1000’s of lawsuits around the world. In 2016 alone, Bayer reported “impairment losses” of $413 Million due to Essure problems.
An extremely high number of women around the world that were implanted with the Essure device are filing lawsuits against Bayer, alleging personal injuries, failure to warn claims, and many additional allegations. Like 2016 and 2017, additional lawsuits are expected to be filed in 2018.
Closing the Fallopian tubes is intended to prevent eggs from exiting the tubes and block sperm from reaching the eggs; this method of permanent birth control does not use hormones. The Essure implant (coil) is a “4-centimeter-long device with a stainless steel inner coil and a Nickel titanium (Ninitol) expanding outer coil. Also, polyethelene terephthalate (or PET) fibers are wound around the inner coil to encourage scar tissue growth. The combination of the Essure device and the scar tissue is intended to eventually block the Fallopian tubes permanently.
The FDA reports over 10,000 injuries involving Essure and over 30 deaths from the device. The deaths involve four adults dying and 21 reports relate to pregnancy loss. Also, there are reports of infants dying after being born.
